My favorite little girl's room

I had to share a sneak peak of this little girl's room I finished last week.

That wallpaper had me at hello. Thibaut Chelsea collection.

Gorgeous and it comes in lots of colors.

This room makes me want a little girl. Someday.

The pink and orange girl's room

The girl's room in this house might be one of my favorite spaces.

My client has 2 girls ages 7 & 9 so we wanted to make a space for them that

was fun and cool with lots of color, but something that would last the pre-teen years.

and just because I know you will ask, the paint color in this room is Love and Happiness

by Benjamin Moore. It is beautiful and just warm enough without being too overwhelming.

Our original inspiration for the space came from this room by Palmer Weiss that was featured in Lonny:

The girls loved the bold orange headboards and the head shots pictured above the beds.

You'll have to stay tuned to the blog for our own interpretation of the look,

but I will give you a little sneak peek at the inspiration board:

We based the whole room scheme around this amazing Potalla pattern from

Quadrille and purchased pillows made out of it from Woody Liana on Etsy.

nursery sneak peek

I spent all day yesterday with my photographer Sara Bateman and some gorgeous flowers photographing a few recent projects. One of the rooms we shot was a lavender nursery that I posted about here and finished up just before I had my own little baby Elliott (poor boy his room still isn't done).

storage for children

This week I've been unpacking baby things and trying to make room in my house for another person.

Even though he'll be a little person this isn't an easy feat.

I'm in the midst of working on a post about storing children's items but in the mean time, I had to post this image I came across.

Look at all those wonderful shelves. This would be so simple to recreate with some simple stock shelving from home depot or ikea. I couldn't live day in and day out with that many things lining the shelves so I'd incorporate some storage boxes to control the clutter.

I'm slightly tempted.

Well I am completely smitten with this darling gallery wall that Liz over at 

Say Yes to Hoboken created with her son Hank's watercolors. She is so creative! 

is there anything cuter than a child's chair?

These pint sized vintage children's thonet chairs on ebay stopped me dead in my tracks when I found them, and they've been haunting me ever since. I even had a dream the other night where I found a pile of vintage children's furniture and french toys in the gutter and I was scrambling to grab everything as fast as I could, especially my darling chairs. Anyone want to psychoanalyze that?

The fresh modern vibe of these two children's rooms has me high on pops of color and combinations of bold patterns. Aren't those graphic rugs fun?
