the bold and the beautiful, drapes

I'm working on a room right now where we are using bold patterned curtains.

I simply can not get enough. Good stuff right?

bright and billowy yellow curtains

I'm using beautiful Mustard yellow curtains for a client I'm working with right and now and I am just smitten with how lovely these yellows look against the light.  Isn't the yellow so cheerful? I wouldn't mind a pair of these for myself. On the billowy side please.

peace and quiet

Sometimes when things get a little crazy, I imagine I have a quiet serene space (like the one above) to work in.
This room came from darling Leslie's old house.

Those green curtains always catch my eye. I used some similar ones in a project recently.
They are the perfect shade of green.
And the best part of all, even though they look really expensive, they are actually a great price.

dress up those blinds

A few weeks back my pal Susan sent me these images (seen on Frolic, I think originally from Lonny) wondering if we could recreate those darling little bows. We were both smitten with the simplicity and sweetness. I love when simple items have an added detail and the trim on these blinds is a perfect example of that.

So we set to work. First, our shopping list:

Bamboo blinds ($11.99 at Lowe's)
White Grosgrain Ribbon ($2.75 @ Joann's)
Glue Gun
Scissors
we set up all our materials ready to go
when we unrolled our blinds we noticed there was a little excess on the front panel
So we trimmed it up, being careful not to let the blinds unravel
And secured it with a strip of hot glue
Then we began to carefull glue down the ribbon in 5 inch sections
Make sure you smooth things out as you go
and be mindful that the ribbon is straight
You can run the ribbon the entire length of the blind,
or just as far as you plan to unroll it

And there you have it, a simple way to dress up big box blinds

Did you know your windows could look this cute for under $20?

swoon

This room makes my heart skip a beat. Leave it to Miles Redd to make all my design dreams come true.

I'm doing a room with a red/grey/aqua combo right now and this image from the cover of December 2009 Elle Decor went straight in to my inspiration file. I'm not normally a red girl but this room had me singing a different tune. You will want to run to the sotre and buy this issue if you haven't already.

Aren't those pelmet frames around the windows just perfection? And don't even get me started on the sofa or chair.

Ahhhhhhhhhh.

ra ra ruffles

These beautiful little curtains make my heart sing.

La la la lovely.

I'll take the grey please. If you are my next client you can bet I am going to beg you to buy these.
Please please, pretty please.

Pretty Pelmets

One of my clients made adorable pelmet boxes for her bedroom and they were featured on Little Green Notebook today. Don't you just LOVE that fabric? I have a stash of that print in my storage room and I still can't decide what to do with it.

Lovely Lattice

I just discovered these lovely curtains  at the Land of Nod.

I love the robin's egg blue and you can't beat the price either.

I have long been an admirer of these curtain panels and now they are on sale for a steal. I love the intricate lattice embroidery.

Such a deal!

classy curtains

I love the simple style of these panels from west elm. The medallion detailing adds  some flair but they are neutral enough to mix well with a variety of decor styles.
