dramatic details

I was working on this bedroom all the way back in January.
We went with a dramatic steely grey color, Benjamin Moore Iron Mountain.
The three things that make the room are the grey version of this bench from Target,
this upgraded chair, and those fabulous knobs we got on clearance at Anthropologie

blue dreams

I think I need a nap today.

I'd love to rest my head in this room and dream of pretty blue things.

Yummy

This bed is as yummy as Thanksgiving dinner!

I want to climb right in.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I'll be back on Friday with holiday gift ideas for the next month straight.

lamps

I had a couple readers email me asking about the lamps in my bedroom after the feature over at My little happy place

These lamps are from none other than Homegoods, as is my zig zag throw. What can I say, it is the best go to for stylish affordable finds. I got the lamps ages ago but I Suwannee just blogged about them today so it looks like some locations may still have them in stock. Happy Shopping!

In a city near you-Chicago

Some where there is a children's room begging for these headboards in a fun bright color.

Happy chic home

Maybe it's that I just got a box of goodies this week for a room I'm working on and that they have the best customer service, or maybe it's that I love his style, or maybe it's that I just scored some desk accessories at target that are totally happy chic, but I cannot get enough of Jonathan Adler these days.

I love love love his 10 commandments.

Chic on a shoestring

Remember this little snippet of A's room I showed you a few weeks ago? Well here is the rest of her cheerful space. A is a 20 something free spirit who needed a high energy room to match her high energy personality. I loved working with her on this project because she is a risk taker. I kept doubting the yellow headboard but she was the one who kept pushing for it and I love how it turned out.
She already had the basics but needed new bedding, lighting, art and accessories. We pulled this whole room together for under $250. This meant scouring thrift stores and classifieds and getting creative.

Everytime I see this room, I think "CHEERFUL".

snatch

Someone please buy this darling pair of headboards from refined, a new to me site. These would look wonderful in a children's room and I am loving the punchy color.

on the brain

I'm working on a few bedrooms right now so I have headboards on the brain. I stumbled across this ingenious nailhead version via house beautiful and I am itching to try. I am a self professed DIY girl and I would love to see how one of these could turn out. I was already working on a custom upholstered piece for my own boudoir but I'm thinking I might branch out and give this baby a try. What do you think?

Happiness is a yellow headboard

This is just a little sneak peek into a project I've been working on. I'll be posting the full room in a couple of weeks. We're still working on the little details but I can't wait to share this room!
