My kitchen: Before and After Part 2

If you caught the first installment of my kitchen redo then you know what went in to the whole transformation. A lot of the decisions that drove this concept were based on what would be effective for resale value for our house and what could be done simply. If I had gutted the kitchen and gone from scratch I probably would have gone a different direction but overall I am so happy with the result of this transformation and it is amazing how the soft clean palette really opens up the space.

And in case you forgot what it looked like before:
Here is what it looks like now:

The cafe curtains are done out of a Windsor Smith fabric, Pelagos. I love this fabric so much it was a real struggle to decide which room in the house I should used it in. It will also be going on the dining nook windows as roman shades. The faux bois dining chairs are vintage and were purchased at a local consignment store. I was lucky enough to score a set of 8 so someday when we graduate to a bigger house I have a full set. I love them and they were a bargain steal.
I have plans to reupholster them but I can't commit to a fabric yet.

  13. WOW! Your kitchen is STUNNING. Simply stunning. Love every little detail. One of the things I struggle with is where to put my Kitchenaide mixer ... do you have one? Does it live on the counter or elsewhere? Wow, this redo is gorgeous.

Nice work Caitlin :) When I get around to figuring out what sizes of photos I want to hang in my office, will you help me arrange them? Molly's walls also need some TLC. We haven't hung anything in there yet.

  18. It looks wonderful and it's such a dramatic change considering that you didn't invest a huge amount...Can I ask a question? Are five people comfortable sitting around that table? I've got a family of five and I would like to switch to a round table, but I wasn't sure it was a comfortable fit. Approximately what diameter is the table?

  35. Great work, One area that brick and mortar retailers are always emphasizing is returns. They want you to believe that returning things like kitchen stools that you've bought online will be difficult and not worth your time, and in some cases, they may be right.

  41. It is important to approach your new bespoke Kitchen or fitted kitchen from the right angle and to never compromise on good interior design. A lot of the decisions that drove the concept were based on what would be effective for resale value for our house and what could be done simply.
