One of my favorite things about the Holiday season is the fresh greens. Christmas for me is not complete without the smell of pine, and pretty pot of paper whites.
The great thing about paperwhites is that they are inexpensive, don't take up much space, and can be incorporated effortlessly into any decor style.
So at least for the season I'll say goodbye to my regular orchids and welcome the traditional amaryllis and paperwhite bulbs into my home.
I've already started my bulbs for the year and I'm loving watching the little bit of green that peeks up each day. If you want your blooms to be prime for Christmas, you better get them started soon !
If you want some tips for forcing your paperwhite bulbs, there's a great post from last year over on Pure Style Home.

My children will love watching these grow. We better get busy. Thanks for the idea.
ReplyDeleteMy green thumb is non-existant... but I may just try my luck this year. Those are beautiful!
