Yalecrest House

You'll be seeing more of this home down the road but I didn't want to leave you hanging anymore. This home happens to be extra special because the client is also my photographer, Sara Bateman. If you are looking for a great family photographer in the Salt Lake area, be sure to check out her blog.

One thing you need to know about Sara is that she lives in a very traditional home, but she is very hip (yes she is a mother of four, but still very hip). As we were approaching this home we wanted to make sure that we incorporated pieces that gave the spaces just a little bit of a young and fun edge (which is where the awesome rug, fun fabrics, and imperial trellis wallpaper helped us out). Sara has a lot of family heirlooms and so the dining table and houndstooth channel back chair are items that have sentimental value and we gave them a new spin to modernize the look.

I don't like to giveaway my sources for client project,
but since I know I will get e-mails here are a few tidbits:

Wall paint: Basic Beige ICI paints
Footed bowl: Pottery Barn a few years ago
Rug: Surya, available for order through me
Pillows: Schumacher

Now I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

  3. Oh it's so beautiful! I'm completely in love with that wallpaper in the dining room. And how the back of the hutch is done in the same color as the two end chairs at the table. Everything is so, so pretty.

  30. I think most of the furnishings and accessories are pretty much typical and not very hard to find. I see a lot of things copied here from other designs.
