My cute husband woke up at 3 in the morning to go log on to verizonwireless.com to reserve my new iPhone.
Isn't he sweet? To be honest I think he's equally excited about the new toy, but still sweet.
I've been waiting forever for Verizon to get the iPhone so I am very excited. Problem is, I am a total newbie to the world of apps.
Do any of you have recommendations for iPhone apps that I can't live without?
I'm especially curious to know about design related apps.

Have the iphone and it is such a wonderful thing. will be even better with verizon as at&t does not have reliable service. My husband owns an app called Wine PhD so if you like wine get it! really don't have any other apps downloaded personally but my two girls have about 10 on my phone. lots of fun games.

Benjamin Moore has a great paint app that helps you match colors!

ReplyDeleteZinio for reading magazines, Benj Moore app, Kravet, Netflix, Kindle. For games, I like old-school Tetris, husband and son like Angry Birds. Uno is fun. Lots more games to try. if you have Verizon or comcast cable, they both have apps that turn your iphone into a remote for your cable box. You can even set your dvr.

ReplyDeleteiContraction for when baby #2 is ready to come, Itsy Bitsy Spider for baby #1 to play with, Shake It Photo (like a Polaroid photo, so fun), LDS Scriptures (I think you can get one that has all the standard works, plus hymns), Fandango (check movie times near you), and more and more.
ReplyDeleteI love that more and more websites and stores are beginning to offer free iPhone apps (Wells Fargo, WebMD, etc.) It just makes looking things up on your phone so convenient!

ReplyDeleteAside from the endless games to keep our little boys busy, I love the "our groceries" app. It can be tailored to any type of shopping you might need-not just groceries. I love it, and use it daily. The scriptures are also available, which makes things so compact and convenient. Yellow pages, and an invaluable one for me especially since I have three curious boys who tend to make my phone disappear is "find iphone" I used it this week in fact. Found it. Houzz also has a free app, which is always inspirational to look at when you're out and about. And I of course have the first aid and webMD apps. Very handy. Have fun with your new phone!

Talking Carl - Penelope plays with this for hours on end!
Fish School - a great app for learning the alphabet & colors. Pen loves it!
Tweet deck - It's what I use, but Chris uses twitter for iPhone.
Awesome note - I haven't tried it out yet, but Chris swears by it.
Google voice - if you have a google voice account, you can receive & respond to texts & voicemails here.
Google docs - if you happen to use google docs like I do

light - for a great torch function on your phone.
I don't have many design apps, because they aren't that relevant to the Aus market, but Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams both have apps to match colours to their paint range.

Good luck finding apps! It's a lot of trial and error. I recommend This American Life app. That has provided me HOURS of entertainment while cleaning, driving, crafting, etc.
ReplyDeleteI got that green Kate Spade iphone case for Christmas and sadly, I can't really recommend it! It's pretty, but doesn't do the job of protecting the phone very well at all. With the smallest, lightest drop the case flies off the phone and the corners of the case have chipped off. Sad! Stick with a speck case, soft shell or hard shell, whichever your preference.

ReplyDeleteHome Interior Layout Designer- Layouts and drawing for on the spot drawing for clientele. Kravet/Lee Jofa edesign has furniture and fabrics, houzz, AutoCAD WS to pull up drawings/plans, Square (allows you to run a credit card on your phone) and of course the Benjamin Moore and Sherwin WIlliams. Google apps are a must, you can speak or type searches on the go!
