The best post I've read in a long time!

I think I sighed out loud today when I read this wonderful post by Lauren over at Pure Style Home. Dealing with budgets on projects can be one of the trickiest parts of a designer's job and I think Lauren took a really frank approach to explaining the whole approach in her post.

I also loved how she posted this chart indicating the difference between a bare bones budget and a high end budget. This can be a great resource if you are trying to figure out what to budget for a room and how much to plan for on certain items.

Yes we all love to get a good deal and quite a few bloggers and designers will pride themselves on being able to source a look for less, but there is always something to be said about investing in quality.

  1. You're right! That post was well written! I've said practically the same thing to dozens of clients! Now I can just send them to her post!

  4. I love that! As an Interior Designer myself I get a little tired of the "look for less", sometimes I just want to see the look. High Low in between.
I do not want to define a space by its price tag.

  5. I thought this was a great post too. It was really helpful and it really gives you a good idea of how much it would cost to furnish a room. It would be nice to be able to go and buy all of your things at one time and make a room look cohesive. I would have so much fun!
