my happy chair

This suzani fabric has been no stranger to the blog world but the colors in it are so wonderful you just can't help falling in love with it.

In the summer I ordered a few yards to reupholster a chair for my office. When it got delivered I loved it so much I couldn't bear banishing it to a room where no one would see it so it has been living in my front room ever since.

I call it my happy chair. Can you see why ?

And to profess my love for reupholstery, this is what the chair looked like before:

I loved the dainty feel of it since it was slightly more elegant than the typical wingback.

And after a trip to my miracle working upholstery shop (Call Brian at Rocky Mountain Upholstery, 801-651-9368) it was a true statement piece.

  5. I'm so jealous that you have such a good and cheap upholsterer!! I'm still trying to find a decently priced shop here in the city. I've been using Britex in SOHO and they are about the cheapest I've been able to find (at least in that cheap AND good category).

I hope you are well!! xx

  12. Swoon! I do love the lines of that chair. And the bold colors in the fabric combined with the dainty feel of the chair are simply... perfection.

On another note, I wanted to let you know I've been following your design advice since you started blogging two summer's ago (I'm a friend of Erika's from Oregon and she mentioned your blog when you first started)and you've always provided lots of fresh ideas and inspiration. I continue to check daily for updates and new posts. Congratulations on your second pregnancy!

  15. Hello-I'm just curious about what the mill means? this fabric says it is 1016 so is it the higher the number is the thicker it is or the lower the thicker?
I'm not familiar with mill numbers.

  19. Looks great. I love the pattern. I have two sad wingbacks from the 80's that desperately need help... Thanks so much for the idea!
