antique keys

A few months ago I started collecting antique keys. I think they have such a cool architectural design to them and I love the way they look when grouped together. I still haven't decided what I am going to do with my keys yet, but I love looking for ideas.

I'm especially loving this image above from Sarah Blank studios
I love the random assortment of keys here

  1. What a great idea.My favourites are the ones above the books and the last one, in a frame. I misplaced the key for my EnglishOak Sideboard when we shifted and my bbf gave me all the old keys from her grannies. What a lovely idea to do with these. Thanks,Wendy

  2. I love them too! I have a huge collection of skeleton keys. In my last home I strung them on grosgrain ribbon and randomly arranged them on my entry way wall. Nothing terribly innovative but they looked kinda cool... if I do say so myself!

  4. You should definitely frame them. Maybe 3 to a frame with a gallery style wall.

  5. I love the way they look! I worked at a historic bed and breakfast in Colorado for three summers while I was in college, and the inn boasted of having the largest key collection in the world. They kept them in one particular room, and the keys were mounted, displayed, and hung from every surface, including the rafters. It was pretty amazing, but considering the history of some of the keys, it was pretty creepy in there at night. I think I prefer key collections in your more reasonable portions. ;)
