I <3 Ruthie! I think I'm going to have to use that quote on my "word to the wise" Wednesdays -- it's just sooo true and so important for people to realize - ... but I will definitely give you credit for finding it!
Very nice quote. I feel exactly the same way. I think I'll send this on to a client/friend who just called to tell me her boys had happily scratched their names into her lovely leather wing chair. (A warm hair dryer and a gentle rubbing gets that out). That's life and life's for living, even in a beautiful house.
I'm an interior decorator in Salt Lake City, Utah. I love pretty fabrics and vintage pieces. This blog is where I share my ideas, finds, and do-it-yourself projects.

This is a great quote and so true. So many photos you see are gorgeous, gorgeous rooms but not really practical--at least not for a klutz like me!
ReplyDeleteI love that quote...what a great philosophy (we feel the same way about our clients!)
