When were dating my husband went to Europe with his friends for a few weeks. I was left home to wait for his calls, and it was torture. I made him promise to bring me back really good gifts.
While I was envisioning a something unique and beautiful, he was envisioning something else. He brought me home a Manchester United soccer jacket and a set of matroshkya dolls painted like snow white and the seven dwarves. Now that I write this I kind of, sort of can't believe I married him. I think I about died of laughter and disappointment when I opened those up.
I do however love nesting dolls, so I when I found these, I was a little excited. I can imagine all the lovely ways these could be used. I think I'll order a set to store all my office goodies in.
Oh and by the way my husband has gotten to be a better gift giver since then. 5 years of marriage and an opinionated wife will do that to you!
I still have those Snow white dolls in storage. Any takers? They're just too ugly to have sentimental value for me!

We love stacking dolls - my girls collect them. We live in Switzerland so of course we find unique ones at different places - but we have never seen Snow White - awesome!
ReplyDeleteYou must know a girl who's 6-10 years old?? I bet she'd love the snow white dolls.

ReplyDeleteDid you keep the snow white dolls? That is too too funny. Typical man.
ReplyDeleteOh Dan! So funny! At least he has upgraded to "Warm and cozy" gifts now ;)
ReplyDeleteThat is exactly what my boyfriend would do if I asked him to bring me something back! Really funny story.
