Decorating with tape, a little tape goes a long way

You may remember my little project with tape a while back. My girl Jenny also did a wonderful project with tape in her entry. And Christina did wonders to her magnet board with a little ribbon, but tape could be used too.

Well, I was searching the Kate Spade site when I came across this project by artist Rebecca Ward and it totally blew me away. I guess we're not the only ones that have discovered the wonders of tape. Oh the possibilities.

speaking of...

Yellow. Yellow. Yellow. I can't stop thinking about it.

Someone better snatch up these yellow darlings quick.

I'm loving the color yellow these days. I'm designing a room with punches of mustard and I can't get enough. Maybe it is my longing for spring but don't these lovely images make yellow look really fresh and appealing?

Start spreading the news

I'm headed to New York next week for some work and play. I'll be in the New York City area from March 3-9. If you are interested in setting up a design consultation or starting an e-decorating project, please e-mail me for more info. I have a limited number of slots available for consults but I would love to work you in! Please email me at caitlincreer@gmail.com for more info.

add it to the list

I thought I knew about every inexpensive trellis fabric on the face of the Earth, but apparently
I missed one. Now how did that happen. I LOVE this print and the price is right.

the weekend's haul

Don't worry, I didn't forget to report on the antique fair. I headed up with two darling blog friends, Susan and Melissa,  and I met a client up there. There were lots of goodies to find there, but the real treasures were found at the thrift store we hit on the way home.

Here are just a few of the lovelies that came home with me that day:
These lamps were purchased for $7.00 for the set. I don't think I can bear to part with them so they are staying at my house. They will be my homage to Christopher Spitzmiller.
I love vintage keys. I'm sure these will find a pretty home framed on a client's wall.
I snagged some pretty wooden trays and woven baskets for a client's home
My Kate Spade-ish cups and saucers. I love the crisp navy stripe.
And my favorite item, a silver beehive sugar dish. Every time I stare at it, I smile.

Pretty and peaceful

Okay. Here we go. I actually went back to snap a few more pictures because a few items we'd been waiting on were delivered. This is a living room that I did recently for a darling client. We had so much searching out antique accessories and picking out items. She had some great antiques to start with that we just built upon. The look she wanted was a modern interpretation of shabby chic. A little fresher, a little fancier, but still calm and comfortable. We used a mix of high and low, and old and new pieces. It's a little departure from the bright colors and bold patterns that my clients usually ask for and I loved doing a such a beautiful room.

My client had these beautiful antique candlesticks that were
a real inspiration for the style of the room.

Isn't her antique piano stool adorable?
These stools are available on amazon for a steal. I noticed they
were also featured in a recent issue of Country living
This rug was purchased at Ballard Designs, I blogged about it here

These darling chairs are from the Country Living collection available at Kmart.
Another wonderful deal. They are so beautiful in person
The rug is by Dash and Albert. This particular rug Plain Tin has been a favorite
of mine for quite some time. I loved working with it in this project.

These are old family photos belonging to my client.
Don't they look beautiful in this apothecary jar?

These beautiful bird pillows were custom made by etsy seller Pillows de Post

I hope this room was worth the wait!
