Anna Kohler's perfect little apartment

I am so jealous of this girl. She lives in my dreams. I was so smitten with this beautiful space that I scanned these images from the early spring issue of Renovation Style last night at midnight. I've probably looked at this space 50 times in the last 24 hours just absorbing it all.

What a lucky girl. What is your favorite part about this apartment?

Conversation pieces and CC On Studio 5

Here is the segment I presented for Studio 5. I won't go into the details about how much I hate the sound of my own voice or how they told me not to look at the camera (which I thought was really weird).  And don't miss my  cheat sheet of  tips for integrating some personality and conversation into your decorating. Happy Monday.

Here are some beautiful inspiration images to go along:

Welcome Sponsor: Rocky Mountain Upholstery

You may have noticed I'm a fan of re-upholstery. I love a good before and after just as much as all of you. There is something magical about seeing how a little fabric can transform a piece of furniture. We'll I'm here to tell you my secret.

It's not magic, It's Brian. Brian is my go to upholstery guy and I can not say enough about how amazing he is! He is a true miracle worker and his prices are wonderful! If you have an old piece that needs new life, give him a call! Tell him Caitlin sent you, and you may even get a deal! And did I mention he delivers?

Just call me Eddie

I bring home lots of treasures on a weekly basis. Between shopping for clients, and finding lots of serendipitious items for myself, there is no shortage of fun accessories floating through my household. But every once in a while, something comes home that I really fall in love with, and this little silver tray is one of them.

I love it for two reasons, one because it reminds me of something Eddie Ross would find on one of his adventures (lots of which can be found in his etsy shop) and two because it is the perfect place to store my loose change and random bits.

And it shines, oh how it shines.

CC on the telly

I'm going to be on a local lifestyle show tomorrow sharing my tricks for incorporating conversation pieces into your home decor. Should be fun, but I definitely have butterflies.

If you are a Utah local tune in to Studio 5 on Friday @ 11 A.M. to see yours truly in action.

I've got lots of goodies and ideas to share.

welcome sponsor: Alice Lane Home Collection

There are very few stores in this world that I could happily furnish an entire house from, and Alice Lane happens to be one of them. If you're not already familiar with this beautiful store, you are in for a treat. I am so excited to welcome them as a sponsor of this blog.

I hop on down to Orem to visit Alice Lane at least once or twice a month to snag some beautiful goodies for my clients. They carry an excellently curated collection of furnishings, home goods, and gifts. Think some of your favorite brands like Oly Studio, Thomas Paul, Roost, and others all under one roof. It's enough to make you swoon. Every time I enter the beautiful store I am jealous of all the darling people who work there and get to stare at that loveliness all day long. Owner and Principal Designer Jessica Bennett has an excellent eye for detail, and in my opinion flawless taste.
If you're in the area, venture on down to see for yourself. And for all of you outside the great state of Utah, have no fear, online shopping is coming soon! For now, enjoy all these beautiful images of the store taken by the talented Nicole Hill Gerulat

Don't you just want to move right in?

aqua, blue, and red

I love the fresh appeal of this color combo. Isn't this image the sweetest?

I'm in the process of tweaking the decor in my sons room and moving things around and these images (via sweetlife on flickr, found via creature comforts) have really captured my inspiration. I remember playing with little houses just like that when I was a child.

in the nude

I'm loving this soft and supple color palette. J. Crew is currently loving it too.
These neutrals with a touch of pink would be beautiful in a master bedroom.
These gorgeous moccasins are hand made by one hip girl who writes this blog
Too bad little Winston has dinosaur feet. I wonder if they come in my size?

higher and higher

So let me tell you about ALT.  Going into this mecca of all things blogging and design, I didn't quite know what to expect. Well let me tell you I was blown away by the information and the all star group in attendance.

It was gratifying to hear that haphazardly I've been making really smart decisions about growing my business, and it gave me some ideas about how I can expand things on this blog to make it more enjoyable for me, and of course for all of you.

2010 is going to be a big year. New sponsors, new giveaways, a new look, and of course lots and lots of beautiful new rooms.

If there's something you'd like to see more of, send me an email and let me know.

kaleidoscope

This colorful notebook is the inspiration for my new office space.

Believe it or not I scored it (& the blue 3-ring binder) at wallyworld in
the office supplies section. Lot's of lovely office goodness is on it's way.

antique mirror

I was out and about last week at my favorite antique spot when I spotted this lovely mirror.
Only $100 for this beautiful piece. I think she should be mine, or if not she should belong one of my clients.  Would you kill me if I put a coat of paint on her?
And yes, those are my little feet reflected in the mirror.

The organized closet

Inspired by Lauren's home organization undertaking, I decide to tackle a few projects of my own.

I don't even dare show you a picture of this storage room before I spent 2 hours knee deep in it, because I promise you would judge me too harshly. I love opening the door now to see my beautiful collection of milk glass, instead of piles and piles of crafty junk.

What spot in your house needs a little attention?
