gift idea # 7 pretty pencils

I think these colorful pencils would add a nice pop to any desk. They remind me of my childhood when I would get pencils with my name on them for Christmas.

just one of the many amazing gifts from iomoi

I like stripes

My friends always make fun of me because they say that 90% of the time I am wearing something with stripes. What can I say? I love them.

I have a little surprise for you coming up that involves lots and lots of stripes. I'm liking them horizontal these days.

Here is a little inspiration from around the web.

gift idea # 6 A cozy throw

You can never go wrong with a good blanket.

These have a beautiful weave and a great price.

gift idea # 5 A set of kitschy coasters

These little coasters would add just the right amount of 5o's kitsch to a girly space.
Or if you are feeling really creative you could frame them as art and
create your own cute little gallery. I love the saturated colors.

p.s. Don't the drawings remind you of Betty's Draper's outfits on Mad Men?

gift idea # 4 A pretty painting

My husband loves simple landscapes. For a while now I've been trying to find some affordable additions to our collection. For Father's Day this year he received a lovely watercolor from Paintbox Landscapes. I love the simple airy style of these gorgeous watercolors.

I would love receive another one of these under the tree.

gift idea # 3 Vintage Chalkboard

This vintage inspired chalkboard from PH Design Studio would be adorable for children or just a quirky place to leave notes. I added one of these to my son Winston's christmas list.

Gift idea # 1 Simple Silhouettes

I'd be happy to receive pretty much anything made by Le Papier Studio

This is a classic and cool gift that will never go out of style.
Great for a newlywed couple or a young family.

I'd really love one of these for my little family.

Yummy

This bed is as yummy as Thanksgiving dinner!

I want to climb right in.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I'll be back on Friday with holiday gift ideas for the next month straight.

close second

We all know and love the Jacqui collection from bungalow 5. It seems like these pieces have been popping up everywhere these days and in a rainbow of colors. I've been loving this piece for quite some time so I was really excited when I spotted this wave table at JC Penney a couple of weeks ago. It is a close second don't you think?
These tables also give a similar look.

And of course, just a little eye candy for y'all featuring Jacqui items.

going modern

I met with a new client over the weekend in her beautiful modern home.

When she showed me this image above as an inspiration for one of the spaces we're working on I knew we were a match made in heaven.

This wall of shelving is from a room Samantha Pynn did for her HGTV show Pure design. One of my favorites! If you want more info, you'll find it here

a pretty patten can be anywhere

I saw this patterned tablecloth at world market the other week and made a mental note of how much I liked it, thinking maybe I could use it in a future project. Then the other day I spotted this tutorial on style at home and I recognized the tablecloth turned into an entry bench. I'm glad someone put this to lovely pattern to use!

Also, if you're interested in taking on this project, just know it is amazingly easy. My pal Jenny over at Little Green Notebook has a great tutorial too. I just did one with a client and it turned out darling and so easy.

I can't believe

I can't believe I found a set of 10 vintage eames chairs on craigslist today.

I really can't believe that they were asking only $95 for all ten.

And I still can't believe when I called them they said they'd been sold approximately one minute earlier.

It just ruined my day. $95? I probably would have felt guilty because I was robbing them blind!

I still can't believe it.

little green chair

I went and visited a client this morning to check in on updates. I just died when I saw how everything was coming together.

I literally oooooed and aaaaaahhhhd over this vintage green chair we got from the local classifieds. It is mid-century green velvet perfection and it fits perfectly in her modern house.

I'm glad that gorgeous chair found a good home.

I realized the way some people are about stray pets, I am about stray furniture. My poor husband.

CC Interiors on Design Sponge

The green trellis chair you all know and love is on Design Sponge today.

Thanks to Grace for the mention!

I have lots more before and after pieces coming up in
the next few weeks, so get excited my friends.

One Kings Lane

Did you see the new images at One Kings Lane? I love the styling.
If you want an invite leave a comment here. They have amazing stuff!

One of my clients has 2 golden retrievers and we're using this exact color of blue in her master bedroom, so I had to post this picture for her. She also happens to be an extremely talented jewelry designer, whose products are carried by Sundance and Athleta

Check out her goods at www.allisondayton.com

swoon

This room makes my heart skip a beat. Leave it to Miles Redd to make all my design dreams come true.

I'm doing a room with a red/grey/aqua combo right now and this image from the cover of December 2009 Elle Decor went straight in to my inspiration file. I'm not normally a red girl but this room had me singing a different tune. You will want to run to the sotre and buy this issue if you haven't already.

Aren't those pelmet frames around the windows just perfection? And don't even get me started on the sofa or chair.

Ahhhhhhhhhh.

I swear I'm not playing favorites

I'm sure it would hurt all of my client's feelings if I claimed to have a favorite project, so I won't. But I will say that I REALLY love the colors and pieces that are going in to this room for one of my e-clients.

It is slightly sad that this room is thousands of miles away and I will probably never see it in person, but at least I'll know that somewhere in central New Jersey, there is an adorable space designed by me.

DIY-Gumdrop Wreath

I was with a friend/client today and we went shopping for her holiday decorations. It was so much fun and I can't wait to deck the halls with all the goodies we bought.

We spent a while debating what kind of wreath she should do, and we finally decided on gumdrops. Ever since this was featured in Martha Stewart a few years back I can't get enough. I told her I would send her instructions but I thought I would share them with all of you as well!

Aren't all these photos lovely? It is amazing what a google search can produce!

I have a surprise for you!

And it has something to do with one of these
It makes me crave a cuckoo clock of my very own.

sconces

Think of sconces as jewelry for your room. A good light fixture can make such a statement.

The lovely tole sconces pictured above are going in to a living room I'm working on.
They'll be keeping a mirror company right over the fireplace. I love them so.

If you're in the market take a gander on ebay

I've even picked out a few of my favorites.

pretty pillows

I delivered pretty pillows made of this fabric to one of my clients last week.

I love the way they look against her new ticking sofas.

Pictures soon. I promise.

These pretty little mirrors would look lovely over our nightstands.

Just one reason I LOVE ebay!

Old is new-vintage chairs revamped

It is amazing how a fresh new fabric can bring life to an old piece of furniture.

This was my first upholstery project a couple of years ago. I found the chair on the street, fluffed up the cushions with some new foam and a fresh fabric and voila! Instant chair love.

This chair is long gone but I loved the anthropologie vibe it had.

This is where my love for vintage chairs began.

Old is new-Vintage inspired wedding

Today is my 5th wedding anniversary. I can't believe it has been that long since I wore my white dress and had my big day.

As part of the celebration, I'm sharing some details from a darling wedding. I mentioned about a month ago that one of my best friends got married, and I was a bridesmaid in her wedding. Consequently her name is also Caitlin, and she also shares a love for vintage things. Today I am happy to share with you a few details from Caitlin's darling vintage wedding.

They rode off on this vintage tandem bike at the end of the evening

Of course my darling chairs

can you believe the ruffles on this dress?

In lieu of a guest book they had people leave notes on vintage typewriters

CONGRATULATIONS Caitlin & Nate!
