DIY

I am always on the hunt for a good DIY project (there are about six pieces of furniture in my garage waiting for a makeover) and these little side tables from Sunset Magazine are one of the most creative ideas I have come across for a while. One of my best friends had gorgeous tables like this in her home when we were growing up. Her mother had flawless taste and their tables were a beautiful antique version that housed small collectibles and pretty things.

I think I may have to add these to my project list! Click here for detailed instructions.

snatch

Someone please buy this darling pair of headboards from refined, a new to me site. These would look wonderful in a children's room and I am loving the punchy color.

recycled and chic

I am in L-O-V-E with these sofa tables. I'm hoping I'll have an opportunity to use these in a room one of these days because I heart them so. The coolest part is they are made of recycled railway ties.

never underestimate

Overstock. I know, I know- you gasp. But seriously. There are surprisingly stylish finds awaiting, like this deliciously modern stratford bench.

another thank you to ebay

I'm have a couple of rooms I am accessorizing right now and I love this large white ceramic clamshell. I love even more that I bought it's twin for a dollar at thrift store last week. I'm thinking she'll look just lovely atop a stack of books.

I'm thinking these would look snazzy over beside tables, maybe even painted a bright, fun color. Ebay is the best.

in a city near you

As a new feature on my blog I am going to start posting craigslist finds from around the country. Today we are starting in miami. This chair is so not what you classify as palm beach style, but my grandmother had one almost exactly like this in her basement when I was a child so I have a soft spot for red leather and nailhead. I still remember how it smelled!

lamp love

This image from Ron Marvin's portfolio has me craving some sunny yellow lamps. I really appreciate what he does with small spaces. Seeing these make me miss our small NY apartment. He loves lamps and mirrors even more than I do. If you haven't seen his work, cruise through his website asap.

birds

These two look like they are having a very meaningful conversation. I wish they would come nest upon my mantel (if I had one) so I could be part of their little world.

on the brain

I'm working on a few bedrooms right now so I have headboards on the brain. I stumbled across this ingenious nailhead version via house beautiful and I am itching to try. I am a self professed DIY girl and I would love to see how one of these could turn out. I was already working on a custom upholstered piece for my own boudoir but I'm thinking I might branch out and give this baby a try. What do you think?

days gone by

These beautiful photos of the Summer 2008 Noa Noa collection made the rounds last year in the blogosphere, but I stumbled upon them the other day and was just awestruck by how beautiful they were. I especially love the vivid colors and the vintage 40'sand 50's feel.

classy curtains

I love the simple style of these panels from west elm. The medallion detailing adds  some flair but they are neutral enough to mix well with a variety of decor styles.

without fail

Those creative minds over at Kate Spade never cease to amaze. I always love going behind the curtain to see what they have in store. This project reminded me so much of my father-in-law's amazing collection of vintage political buttons {which we hope to one day inherit}. His button collection deserves a post all of it's own, which I promise will come soon.

primarily speaking

This color palette from Inchmark Journal totally resonated with me because it reminded me of my sons room. I collect vintage toys and so the whole primary color concept just really worked for me. I loved how basic and classic this color scheme is for a child's room. My son Winston is almost one and I'm still not done with his room yet. Hooray for more inspiration.

Etsy can be a gold mine for pillow covers. I have spent way too many hours searching through the thousands and thousands available. I am swooning over these from Utilitarian Franchise.

crush

If all my dreams come true, someday I will have a bathroom outfitted in beautiful Ann Sacks tile. I used to walk by her showroom in New York all the time and just gawk at her beautiful patterns and colors.

the plan

Here is another little sneak peak, the inspiration board for the bedroom I posted about earlier.
I love the dialogue between the punches of green and yellow.

chair envy

Another object of my affection is chinese chippendale faux bamboo chairs. I just spotted this dining set in the classifieds and I am tempted to snatch these up, ditch the table, and make them over. I am seriously contemplating since the price is still way below what these chairs retail for these days if you were to buy them new.

Happiness is a yellow headboard

This is just a little sneak peek into a project I've been working on. I'll be posting the full room in a couple of weeks. We're still working on the little details but I can't wait to share this room!

crush

I have such a design crush on these tables from urban outfitters.  They are just beautiful and perfect and modern.

Halsea's digs

I've long been a fan on Halsea, a chic california company known for their hip luggage and accessories. Next time I head to Newport beach, a visit to their store is at the top of my list. I love the bright and bold textiles that Halsea is famous for and their store is just an extension of their cool palm beach meets california laid back style. Their boutique/corporate offices were actually designed by Krista Ewart {a Ruthie Sommer's protege} whose home has been featured in domino, AT, and HGTV.

Trina I love you!

I've always loved Trina Turk's fun but classic style. When I lived in New York I used to love meandering through her boutique in the meatpacking district to peruse all her wonderful patterns. Her new fabric collection through Schumacher just screams summer to me. I love it! I am itching for a project where I can put these beauties to use.

cool classics

One of the furniture pieces I most desire to own is a gate leg table. I love these for two reasons, one their versatility, and two the beautiful lines on the turned legs. I've come a across a few that I now kick myself for not buying and I think the next time I spot one of these, in good condition, I'm going to have to pull the trigger.

vintage cool

I love buying vintage things because of the history they contain. I like to think of the life they lived before I owned them. These his and hers suitcases just might be one of my favorite finds.
I love the personal touch the monograms add.

singing

Sometimes you find a fabric that you love, and your heart sings. That is how I felt when I met the beauty I snagged yesterday at Joanns of all places {proof that good design comes from anywhere} for only $8/ yard. Unfortunately she is nowhere to be found online. I have big plans, stay tuned.

project anyone?

These rattan nesting tables from craigslist are begging for a BRIGHT can of spray paint and nice little spot at your house. For $20 you can't go wrong.

lusting for lamps

In my opinion, proper lighting can transform a space and I think lamps are one of the best investments you can make in a space. Lamps add a design element, lighting,  can be easily moved, switched, transported, or made over if you change your look.

I've been lusting after these beauties from pier one and now they are on sale. I am so tempted.

here we go

I have a love of all things vintage and classic. When you mix this with bold pattern, bright colors, and a little joie de vivre, you get my style. Someone once told me that what you think about as you fall asleep at night, says a lot about who you are and what you are passionate about. As I drift of to la la land, my head is swimming with fabric, furnishings, and other pretty things.

After projects here and there, I decided to get serious about what I really love. So, on a sunny day in march CC {Caitlin Creer} Interiors was born.
